Challenges

  • Universities in general, and Nile University in particular, face significant challenges in managing their parking spaces, including some damages and obstacles such as:
  • The increase in the number of cars during peak hours and the difficulty in finding empty parking spaces, leading to delays for students and staff in attending lectures and meetings.
  • Difficulty in monitoring the use of parking spaces designated for students, staff, or those reserved for people with disabilities.

Solution

  • Nile University managed to find the optimal solution to be able to identify the identity and details of each car and its user by using an RFID component, specifically the WIN SHIELD TAG designed for vehicles.
  • The information about each car, including entry and exit times and driver details, is read as it passes through the RFID Reader.
  • Cars designated for students, faculty members, and staff are assigned parking spaces, giving them priority access to parking in order to avoid congestion and ensure the smooth functioning of the university’s activities.

Effects

  • Organizing the entry and exit of cars, which reduces traffic congestion.
  • Helping drivers find available parking spaces more quickly and securely.
  • Improving parking management, which helps reduce operational costs.
  • Enhancing security and safety by preventing unauthorized vehicles from entering.
  • Providing accurate data on the number of cars using the garage, which facilitates the counting process.
