Background
- IWAN Developments is one of the leading companies in the Egyptian real estate market, specializing in the development of residential and commercial projects using the highest standards of quality and innovation. The company aims to provide smart and advanced residential and commercial solutions that meet the growing needs of its clients in the real estate market, as part of its efforts to improve property management and services within its projects.
Challenges
- Before implementing RFID technology with the I PARK application in its parking garages, IWAN faced several key challenges in managing parking spaces:
- Tracking available spaces in the garages and ensuring proper organization was a complex task. Many times, clients struggled to find available parking spots, which impacted the user experience.
- Visitors and residents in the residential projects often spent long periods searching for empty parking spaces, causing inconvenience and increasing the time spent in the garages.
- There was no centralized system to track the movement of cars within the garages, making it difficult to know which areas were available, congested, or determine which cars were occupying the spaces.
- With the increasing number of residents and tenants in the residential and commercial complexes, the pressure on the designated parking spaces grew. As a result, innovative solutions were needed to manage these spaces more efficiently.
Solution
- To address these issues, IWAN Developments decided to implement RFID technology in collaboration with the I PARK application to improve parking garage management in its projects.
- RFID technology uses radio frequencies to determine the location of objects (in this case, cars). An RFID chip is installed on each car, and through RFID readers in the garages, the movement of cars can be tracked, and available spaces can be easily identified.
- All cars used in the project (whether residents’ or visitors’ cars) were equipped with a small RFID chip placed in the vehicle. This chip contains unique information about the car, such as its registration number and the time it entered the garage.
- RFID readers were installed at the entrances, exits, and various points inside the garage to enable the system to track the movement of cars throughout the garage, allowing real-time identification of vacant and occupied spaces.
Effects
- Residents and visitors in IWAN projects can now easily find parking spaces in a short amount of time.
- This led to a reduction in frustration caused by the difficulty of finding parking spaces, contributing to an improved experience for visitors and residents.
- With the use of RFID, tracking available spaces in the garages became much easier. Space utilization improved significantly, helping to reduce pressure on available spaces and increasing efficiency.
- By tracking the movement of cars with RFID, better security for cars in the garages was ensured. The time of entry and exit of each car could be monitored, contributing to enhanced security within the garages.
- All entry and exit processes were automatically documented, simplifying access management and reducing the need for human intervention.
- With the use of the I PARK application, garage operations were managed more efficiently. The need for labor in garage management decreased, as the system monitored car movements and displayed real-time data.
- By improving space utilization and reducing search times for parking spots, costs associated with congestion and delays in reaching parking spaces were reduced. Additionally, the need for manual operations related to parking management was minimized.
- IWAN Developments demonstrated that modern technology can play a pivotal role in enhancing daily services in real estate projects, thereby strengthening its position in the Egyptian real estate market.
