Parking System For ILPE Egypt

Background

  • International Logistics Partners Egypt (ILPE) was founded in 2001 as an Egyptian company specializing in providing logistics solutions, shipping, and transportation services. The company is located in Alexandria and is considered one of the leading companies in the logistics sector, offering maritime, air, and land freight services, in addition to warehouse management and supply chain operations.

Challenges

  • As the company expanded and the volume of logistics operations increased, the number of trucks passing through the company’s garages also grew. This led to congestion in space and difficulty managing traffic flow within the garages.
  • Organizing the available spaces within the garages effectively became a challenge, resulting in longer waiting times for trucks and cars inside the garage, which caused delays in logistics operations.
  • Due to the large number of trucks and vehicles, it became difficult to monitor the entry and exit movements accurately. This led to errors in identifying incoming and outgoing vehicles and hindered optimal tracking of trucks.
  • Vehicle movement and related data management were handled manually, which increased the time and effort required and exposed the system to the risk of human error.
  • Due to the high number of vehicles in the garages, there were challenges in ensuring the security of the vehicles and trucks inside the garages, as well as preventing unauthorized vehicles from entering.

Solution

  • ILPE adopted RFID technology to track vehicles inside the garages. RFID tags were installed on each truck or car in the garage, enabling precise location identification when a vehicle entered or exited the garage.
  • An intelligent parking management system was installed, allowing for efficient allocation of available spaces based on the number of vehicles in the garage. With this system, empty spaces could be easily identified, and vehicles were organized in a way that prevented congestion.
  • To secure the garages and vehicles, ILPE implemented video surveillance systems equipped with artificial intelligence technology. These systems were capable of monitoring and analyzing activities inside the garage accurately, helping to verify the entry and exit of unauthorized vehicles.

Effects

  • By using RFID technology and the intelligent parking management system, ILPE was able to reduce wasted time in managing truck and vehicle movements within the garages. The system became more organized, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
  • Smart technologies like RFID and inventory management systems helped reduce human errors that occurred due to manual transactions. Tracking of shipments and goods became more accurate, leading to cost reductions associated with errors.
  • Thanks to the smart systems, it became possible to improve the timing of shipments, resulting in increased customer satisfaction due to timely deliveries and safer handling of goods.
  • The adoption of technological solutions reduced the need for human labor in some operations and decreased the time spent on management, leading to lower operational costs and significant savings.
